Alyson Snyder (she/her) is an actress of the stage & screen, singer, songwriter, musician, and athletic dancer based in NYC & LA.
Alyson has been working consistently around the country at various regional theatres including Paper Mill Playhouse, Short North Stage, & Transcendence Theatre Company where was listed as a standout performer delivering “a soulful Somewhere Over the Rainbow” in the world premiere of Hooray for Hollywood. “With Judy Holliday timing and Snow White forthrightness,” Alyson recently joined the cult of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Janet (slut!) - her third time appearing on the Mountain Theatre Company stage.
A huge lover of cabaret performance, Alyson was reviewed on BroadwayWorld.com as an “unquestionable triumph” after singing at Feinstein’s/54 Below: “stepping completely out of the shadow of Barbra Streisand with an unusually perfect ‘People’.” Alyson spent several years performing at sea including Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, Burn the Floor, and her own solo cabaret: “Personality” which she sang with a live, 9-piece band. Over her collegiate and professional career, she has performed alongside Broadway/TV legends such as Leslie Uggams, Adam Pascal, Jason Robert Brown & Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants). She was also lucky enough to understudy the Queen Of All Queens, Jinkx Monsoon & Ginger Minj (along with the role of Kira) in the workshop for the National Tour of Xanadu the Musical. Drag performers continue to follow her career and her personal life and she wouldn’t have it any other way!
The Cape Cod Times highlighted Alyson as “dynamite” and awarded her Best Performance of 2015 for her performance as Alice Beane in Titanic with the College Light Opera Company. She was listed as Best Actress of 2015 in the Dayton Daily News after her performance as the titular role in Peter Pan, one of her most cherished roles to date. A Michigan native, Alyson spent 5 consecutive summers performing on the coast of Lake Michigan with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, including Shrek the Musical (Fiona), Secret Garden (Martha), Music Man, & Carousel.
Snyder played the Mother in the short film thriller: The Funeral Photographer. Alyson is eager to continue pursuing more work in TV/film & voiceover. Though she is somewhat green, she feels most alive while on set. Her goals include making her Broadway debut, playing a superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and someday hosting her own late night talk show.
